THE Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) turned 46 years old on Feb. 1, 2021.
In observance of the Covid-19 health and safety protocols, MCWD only held a simple picture-taking ceremony for the 130 employees who were recognized for their dedicated service to the water district through the years.
Of the 130 awardees, five of them have been in the water district for 35 years: Antonieto Abe, customer service officer of the customer service department; Andrew Magno, department manager of the engineering department; Ronald Mahinay, engineering assistant of the engineering department; Hermione Padillo, senior corporate accounts analyst of the customer service department; and Marco Pata, principal draftsman of the engineering department.
Employees who have served for 30, 20, 15, 10 and five years also received their service award during the corporate anniversary.
Two employees were given special recognition for completing additional degrees, through personal efforts, to improve their competencies to deliver better public service.
A special award was likewise given to the Environment and Water Resources Department for the department with the least tardiness while the production department was given the special award for the department with the least absences.
