Moralde suffers KO loss anew

JOHN Vincent Moralde suffered another defeat in the US after dropping a fourth round knockout in the hands of unbeaten lightweight prospect William Zepeda last Nov. 14, 2021 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, New York.

Zepeda punished Moralde for three rounds and stopped him at the 1:59 mark of the fourth round with a flurry of punches to the head.

The 25-year-old Zepeda was very aggressive, throwing punches in volume. Moralde would counter Zepeda occasionally.

As the rounds progressed, Moralde started to slow down. Zepeda finally found his mark and connected with punches to the head that forced Moralde to turn away and forced referee Eddie Hernandez to stop the fight.

The 27-year-old Moralde suffered another knockout loss in the US after a first round technical knockout defeat against Jose Vivas in 2020. He dropped to 24-5 with 13 knockouts.

Zepeda, on the other hand, won his third straight fight in the US after stopping Roberto Ramirez and Hector Tanajara in his first two fights in the US. He remained unbeaten with 24-0 with 22 knockouts.
