The invitation to the wedding of Mirella B. Gallego and Christopher B. Gecha came with a bottle of wine. It read: “As much as we would like to celebrate our wedding day with you, we cannot be together at this time. We invite you to share our special day with us just the same. Please pour yourself a drink and join in the celebration.” And then there was the Zoom ID, along with the password for the invitees to view the mid-morning ceremony officiated by Rev. Fr. Nestor Gaspe CsSR at the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church.
Mirella walked down the aisle (lined with towering palm trees) flanked by her loving parents, architect Ed and Bernadette Gallego. Chris was waiting at the foot of the altar (beautifully blooming with Hydrangeas) with his best man Timothy Go. Travel restrictions prevented his parents in Batanes to come.
A reception for the wedding entourage, family members and close friends was held at the bride’s residence in Bauhinia Drive.
