Only Guadalupe hits 3-digit Covid-19 case count in past 10 days

ONLY one barangay has a three-digit case of Covid-19 in the past 10 days in Cebu City.

This happened after the number of individuals infected with coronavirus decreased in the first half of September compared to the month of August.

August saw a sudden surge in the number of infected individuals and fatalities, resulting in record-high numbers of both active cases and deaths.

Barangay Guadalupe, the largest barangay in Cebu City, has a current active case count of 154.

Last August, Guadalupe had more than 300 active cases.

Guadalupe is followed by Lahug and Talamban with 46 active cases each.

Apas has 41 active cases, while Kasambagan has 33.

In the past 10 days, Cebu City had a total of 1,107 active cases.

These cases are currently being treated in barangay isolation centers, isolation hotels and hospitals.

The critical utilization rate of 11 private hospitals in Cebu City has decreased to 41.6 percent from the more than 70 percent occupancy rate in the month of August.

The four public hospitals in the city have a 52.7 percent occupancy rate.

All in all, the occupancy rate of the 15 hospitals is currently at 46.4 percent.

Cebu City had already tested 404,878 people for Covid-19.

Of the number, 9.95 percent (40,289) tested positive for the virus; however, 37,841 positive cases have already recovered, while 1,341 people died. (PAC / KAL)
