THE Sherilin-Unisol Mandaue City Plastic Men announced their intentions for the title with a loud bang, crushing the Lapu-Lapu City Pantum, 97-71, in the Pilipinas Super League 21-Under VisMin Leg on Thursday afternoon, July 14, 2022, at the Don Celestino Martinez Sr. Sports and Cultural Center in Bogo City.The Plastic Men pounced on their opponents early and led by 18, 29-11. However, Lapu-Lapu City crawled their way into the ballgame and pulled to within five, 26-31, after a three-pointer by Jeco Bancale.However, that was as close as Lapu-Lapu City got as the Plastic Men got their acts together and outscored their foes 28-16 in the second period to lead by 20 at halftime, 59-39. It was all Sherilin-Unisol from that point onwards as they grew the lead to a high of 32 points to pick up the easy victory.Versatile wingman JZ Dizon haunted his former team, scoring 15 points to pace the Plastic Men of businessman Richard Mercado.Speedy guard Zylle Cabellon added 12 points, four assists, and four steals, while Daryl Guerrero had 11 points and five boards.Jhoernel Tangkay had 11 points for Lapu-Lapu City, while James Asoro and Jude Betonio had 10 points each.
