CEBUANO basketball star Macmac Tallo will be playing for the Bicol Volcanoes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Mumbaki Cup later this year.
The former two-time Cesafi (Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc.) Most Valuable Player, who is currently playing for Manila Chooks TM in the FIBA 3×3 pro circuit, explained that his relationship with head coach Aldin Ayo played a huge role in this decision.
Tallo previously played for Bacolod and Manila in the Lakan Cup.
“Coach Aldin will be taking charge of Bicol. I wouldn’t want to be in a situation where I play under a different coach and would have to get used to a new system, when I’ve already gotten used to Coach Aldin’s style,” shared the 27-year-old who had an impressive stint in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Doha Masters last month.
“Coach helped me beat some of my bad habits. If I play a different way, those habits might come back and all my efforts would be wasted.”
Tallo expressed his excitement for his new team, which will be under new management following a tumultuous campaign last year.
“I’m excited to be a part of this. Everybody wants to be a winner. That is already a motivation for me to give everything I have on the court,” said Tallo.
