Now in its sixteenth year, the Diageo World Class competition brought together bartenders from 51 nations vying for the globe’s most prestigious bartending accolade.
TORONTO, Oct. 03, 2025 – Norway’s Felice Capasso secured the pivotal title of World Class Global Bartender of the Year 2025 at one of the preeminent cocktail competitions worldwide, hosted this year in Toronto. Facing competitors from 51 global markets across six continents, Felice earned the top distinction, chosen by a panel of international industry authorities during the yearly tribute to global cocktail artistry.
Felice Capasso, who works at Nedre Løkka Cocktailbar in Oslo and established Sesto Senso Academy, a specialized institution for wine and spirits education, distinguished himself from other participants through a collection of signature drinks that highlighted his profound dedication to bartending. Beyond the prestigious award, Felice will receive a trophy, a fully-funded journey to next year’s Global Finals, guidance from leading experts, and a year-long itinerary of all-expenses-paid trips to Diageo markets globally. His new role will also include appearances as a guest bartender at premier establishments, conducting bartender training sessions, and organizing events.
Throughout the competition, Capasso engaged in multiple innovative tasks, such as reimagining traditional drinks with Johnnie Walker Black Label. Here, Felice ingeniously adapted classic gin cocktails, infusing them with a Johnnie Walker Black Label essence, including a drink called ‘Top Notes,’ a nod to the French 75. In the Don Julio 1942 challenge, Felice drew inspiration from a unique AI artwork to craft a complementary aperitif, embodying tequila’s foundational spirit. For The Singleton’s multi-sensory cocktail test, Felice designed a bespoke record sleeve, influenced by the beloved song ‘That’s Amore,’ reminiscent of the inviting atmosphere of a Napoli street corner. This was presented alongside his signature cocktail, ‘Between Us,’ creating an experience that thoroughly impressed the judging panel.

He was joined by industry luminary Monica Berg, co-proprietor of London’s groundbreaking Tayēr + Elementary, an establishment regularly listed among the world’s top bars and recognized for her commitment to fostering innovation, learning, and environmental responsibility within the industry. Also on the panel was Ago Perrone, the highly influential Director of Mixology at London’s iconic Connaught Bar.
