East Asia Research Launches Undergraduate Research Conference in 2026

The initiative of the undergraduate research conference is based on the high – level participation of undergraduates in recent East Asia Research events. At the recently concluded Asia – Pacific Conference on Economics & Finance (APEF), East Asia Research received 61 undergraduate students from Kasetsart University, which shows the increasing institutional demand for well – structured undergraduate research conference opportunities.

URC2026 is intended to give undergraduate students early access to academic research dissemination, professional conference settings, and international academic networks. By running each undergraduate research conference in parallel with established international conferences, students can be immersed in a real academic environment while benefiting from workshops specifically designed for undergraduate development.

In 2026, the East Asia Research Undergraduate Research Conference will be held in parallel with the following conferences:

Each URC2026 undergraduate research conference will be presented as a one – day academic activity in line with the theme of its corresponding main conference. Undergraduate participants will present their research through poster presentations, attend selected conference sessions, and participate in targeted workshops aimed at building academic and professional preparedness.

A key characteristic of URC2026 is the signature “What Do I Do?” workshop series, where students can explore real – world paths in academic research, industry positions, and postgraduate studies. These sessions offer practical insights into career decision – making and assist students in connecting their academic training with future professional directions.

“URC2026 formalizes a clear and supportive path for undergraduate research development,” said Anthony Tan, Conference Director at East Asia Research.

For universities and academic supervisors, the undergraduate research conference series provides a professionally managed platform to support undergraduate research training, experiential learning, and international academic exposure.

Bulk registrations and supervised student groups are welcome. Further details about dates, venues, and registration for each URC2026 undergraduate research conference will be released along with the respective main conference announcements.
