MUNICH, Germany, Sept. 08, 2025 — At the IAA Mobility 2025 exhibition in Munich, BYD unveiled new vehicle models, confirmed its plans for European manufacturing, and highlighted groundbreaking innovation.
Senior Vice President Stella Li announced BYD’s expanded product line-up with the introduction of the Seal 6 DM-I Touring, the company’s first-ever station wagon. This model blends extended range efficiency with practical utility, boasting over 1,300 km of range. Utilizing BYD’s hybrid DM technologies, the Seal 6 DM-I can achieve a range exceeding 1,500 km.
Li reaffirmed BYD’s engagement in the European market by pointing to the inauguration of a new manufacturing plant in Hungary, scheduled to begin production by the close of 2025. “This serves as concrete proof of BYD’s enduring presence in Europe,” she stated. The company is collaborating with hundreds of local suppliers to establish a European supply chain. The Dolphin Surf, recently honored as World Urban Car of the Year, will be the initial vehicle produced in Hungary.
She also declared new recognition for one of BYD’s most economical models. The Dolphin Surf has been awarded the highest five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP. Stella Li added, “This exceptional accomplishment for a compact, budget-friendly car demonstrates our dedication to elevating safety standards.”
Ultimately, BYD intends to implement its Flash Charging network across Europe, aiming for 200 to 300 installations by the second quarter of 2026.
According to Li, BYD’s technology only requires 50 to 100 kW of grid power, with integrated battery storage boosting the output to one megawatt. She described this as “the game-changer” in the EV industry.
Stella Li emphasized that this solution will significantly improve the accessibility and affordability of high-speed charging.
