PARIS, March 13, 2026 — DENZA, the BYD Group’s premium, technology-focused automotive brand, confirms its flagship Z9GT will debut revolutionary FLASH Charging and the ‘Ready in 5, Full in 9, Cold Add 3’ principle for European customers at its official launch event on April 8 at the Palais Garnier opera house in Paris.
Recently unveiled in China by BYD Chairman and CEO Wang Chuanfu, FLASH Charging is poised for a global rollout in a matter of weeks. It is engineered to overcome the final obstacles for customers hesitant to adopt zero-emission vehicles. The technology leverages advancements in two critical domains: BYD’s newest charging station, which delivers up to 1,500kW of power (via a Chinese-market connector) through a single cable, and the second-generation Blade Battery. This battery maintains the benefits of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry while utilizing improved ion transport to boost energy density, enable faster charging across a broader temperature spectrum, and reduce degradation.
Practically speaking, FLASH Charging embodies the ‘Ready in 5, Full in 9, Cold Add 3’ principle through its exceptional recharge times. The system can increase the battery charge from 10% to 70% in five minutes (making it ‘Ready’ for several hundred more kilometres), and from 10% to 97% (effectively ‘Full’) in just nine minutes. Even in extreme cold as low as -30°C, which typically slows charging, FLASH Charging can restore the battery from 20% to 97% in 12 minutes (the ‘Add 3’).
The Z9GT is now prepared to deliver these innovations to the European market within weeks. With its European-inspired design and DENZA-exclusive e3 Platform, the shooting brake Grand Tourer already presents a distinctive offering for premium buyers. The addition of FLASH Charging provides a further technological edge, especially when combined with the impressive range of its 122kWh Blade Battery—up to 800km for the rear-wheel-drive model. Performance is also uncompromised; the triple-motor all-electric variant produces over 960PS, achieving 0-100km/h in under three seconds.
The Z9GT’s interior will be the first in Europe to provide an opera-house-caliber entertainment experience, a result of a collaboration with French audio expert Devialet. A custom speaker configuration and Dolby Atmos® immersive audio technology precisely position sound throughout the cabin, offering enhanced detail, clarity, and separation. This creates a deeply emotional and immersive experience, transforming the Z9GT into an entertainment venue that connects passengers more intimately with their favorite content.

Thousands of FLASH Charging stations are already operational in China, and BYD is dedicated to a worldwide expansion that will feature an initial installation wave of FLASH Chargers across Europe.
