SINGAPORE, Dec. 10, 2025 — Folks Finance, the premier crosschain lending protocol supported by Coinbase Ventures, Jump, ParaFi, and Borderless Capital, is advancing to its next stage of growth with the launch of xChain V2, planned for the first half of 2026.
To facilitate the launch, Folks Finance is dedicating 1 million FOLKS tokens (worth approximately $10M at publication) to an incentives program. These rewards are designed to stimulate activity in unified crosschain liquidity pools and efficient strategy vaults, benefiting users who engage with the enhanced platform as it works toward a $1 billion Total Value Locked (TVL) goal.
Version 2 expands upon the achievements of the FOLKS token introduction and the initial version of genuine crosschain lending via xChain. It aims to broaden adoption significantly by eliminating the typical complexities associated with crosschain DeFi. This update introduces improved operational efficiency, compatibility with both EVM and non-EVM blockchains, and innovative vault-based crosschain loans that allow users to access managed, crosschain yield strategies through a single dashboard.
Integral to this roadmap, xChain V2 will integrate with the forthcoming Folks Mobile application to offer debit-card-enabled borrowing. This feature will let users take out loans secured by their crypto collateral, maintain their market positions and yield earnings, and utilize the borrowed funds for real-world purchases.
The objective is straightforward: transform sophisticated DeFi operations into accessible utilities for both blockchain interactions and daily transactions.
The utility of the FOLKS token will be enhanced in conjunction with the V2 release, with more information to be disclosed as development continues.
