WEIFANG, China, Dec. 17, 2025 — A delegation from the French Foie Gras and Poultry Association (CIFOG) and the French Livestock and Meat Industry Association recently conducted on-site inspections at enterprises in Linqu County, Weifang City, Shandong Province. The visit included in-depth discussions on topics such as Landes goose breeding, production and processing systems, export trade structures, technological R&D, and product innovation.
“It is striking that the Landes goose, native to southwestern France, has fostered an industrial cluster in the East with an annual output value of 8 billion yuan,” noted Perrine ATTARD, Head of Export, Marketing, and Communication at CIFOG.
A Representative from the Linqu County Information Center pointed out that the county has continuously refined its “company + cooperative + base + farmer” development model in recent years. This approach has led to the establishment of integrated industrial bases, allowing over 90% of the county’s goose industry entities to implement modern operations and management. After 40 years of development, Linqu has built a fully integrated industrial chain covering breeding, rearing, fattening, processing, and sales, with annual foie gras output exceeding 5,000 metric tons. The county has also actively participated in formulating national foie gras standards, helping guide the industry toward standardization and nationwide development.
Today, Linqu foiegras is supplied to major cities across China and exported to Japan, the EU, and other international markets, serving as a flagship example of a local specialty industry successfully expanding globally.
