This was assured by the management of Ocean Jet and Super Shutte Ferry during their meeting with Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia at the Capitol on May 18, 2023.
The new Liloan-Camotes route will give the Cebuanos another way to get to Camotes and break the monopoly of Jomalia Shipping, the sole company that serves Danao-Camotes route.
The Ocean Jet and Super Shuttle Ferry vessels will sail to Camotes from Liloan once every day.
Ocean Jet’s fastcraft will leave Liloan port every 8:30 a.m.
Garcia wants the trips to start as soon as possible because many local and foreign tourists have been waiting for this for a long time.
Meanwhile, The Marine Industry Authority (Marina) vowed to issue the required licenses for the said route.
The Ceres buses which will travel the Cebu City-Liloan-Camotes route onboard the roll-on, roll-off (roro) vessel have already been granted a franchise by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. (PAC, TPT)
