671 typhoon-hit MSMEs in Cebu receive Negosyo Kits

Some 671 typhoon-hit micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Cebu have been provided financial assistance by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cebu to help them start their businesses anew after the onslaught of super typhoon Odette.DTI’s Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Program (PPG) has helped 135 beneficiaries from Argao, 100 from Pinamungajan, 103 from Barili and 130 from San Fernando. These MSMEs received Negosyo Kits worth P8,000 each which comprise of various items/goods that will be used to restore or improve their business.The PPG progaram is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program for micro-enterprises, with priority in areas affected by fire incidents and other calamities such as typhoons and health disasters like outbreaks, epidemics and pandemics such as Covid-19.The DTI said It isa post-disaster response mechanism to address the need for continued economic activities in the affected areas.DTI Cebu also conducted seminars on entrepreneurial development and simple bookkeeping to help these beneficiaries grow further their businesses.
