9 Pusok SK officials quit posts

ALL members of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City resigned from their posts on March 6, 2021.

Aside from the youth councilors, the secretary and treasurer also resigned.

SK Councilor Keesha Niña Tuñacao confirmed that they resigned last March 6.

Tuñacao did not release further details on their decision as it was “confidential.” They will only issue an official statement after their talk with SK Chairman Lyka Tampus.

However, in a Balitang Bisdak report on Thursday, March 11, the SK councilors’ letters to their village chief disclose that they decided to resign because of the alleged “inactive leadership” of Tampus, who sits as ex-officio member of the Lapu-Lapu City Council being the SK federation president.

Pusok Barangay Captain Justino Booc said he was also disappointed with Tampus’s performance, adding there were instances that she rarely reported to the barangay during their sessions.

Tampus promised she will issue a statement on Monday, March 15, to answer the issues hurled at her.

The other SK councilors who also resigned from office were Jeraldyn Soliano, Danica Mae Villa, Archie Pino, Edgar Inot Jr., Seth Joshua Dela Peña and Zandra Faye Dignos. The other resignees were SK secretary Monique Ursula and treasurer Imae Batingal.

Tuñacao said their resignation still needs the approval of Tampus and the barangay captain of Pusok.

If approved, Tampus will be the only official to remain in Pusok’s SK. (GCM, JKV)
