A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy died while his mother was injured in a road incident involving a motorcycle and a prime mover truck in Talisay City, Cebu on Wednesday afternoon, March 2, 2022.The vehicular incident past 12 p.m. was reported by the City of Talisay Traffic Operations and Development Authority (CT-TODA) on its Facebook page.CT-TODA identified the boy as Zion Olivo and his mother as Roxanne Balansag, 25.The boy and his mother were passengers of a motorcycle driven by Rebecca Alcontin, and he was in between his mother and the driver.Balansag carried her son in her arms.Based on the accounts gathered by CT-TODA, the motorcycle stopped beside the driver’s side of the prime mover truck at a traffic light at the corner of Rabaya St. and the Cebu South Coastal Road in Talisay City.Truck driver Feliciano Villanueva apparently did not notice the motorcycle.When the traffic lights turned green, the truck moved ahead, hit the motorcycle and ran over the boy.Villanueva, currently detained, will face reckless imprudence resulting in homicide if the boy’s family decides to press charges against him.
