Bus passengers advised to arrive at terminals early, beat holiday rush

BETWEEN 10,000 and 15,000 passengers are expected to flock to the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) and the Cebu North Bus Terminal (CNBT) on Thursday, April 1, 2021.

They will be spending the rest of the Holy Week in their respective hometowns in the province.

Because of this, Carmen Quijano, manager of both terminals, urged passengers to arrive early so they will beat the holiday rush.

Quijano reminded the public about the curfew in the province, which starts at midnight and lasts until 5 a.m.

“Mas maayo og magsayo sad gyud sila, kanang magdala sila og light lang. Naa bayay mga curfew, pero naa man tay mga bus, mga 300 mobyahe sa South Bus,” Quijano said on March 30.

(It’s better if they come early and they travel light. There is a curfew, although around 300 buses will be available at the South Bus Terminal.)

The Cebu Police Provincial Office has also deployed several police personnel at the CSBT and the CNBT to monitor the peace and order situation and to ensure that passengers comply with minimum quarantine protocols.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board 7 has put up tarpaulins in both terminals to remind bus drivers of the rules and regulations they have to follow.

The tarpaulins also remind the public to observe coronavirus disease 2019 guidelines like wearing of face masks and face shields inside the terminals and the buses at all times.

The body temperature of all passengers will be checked at the entrance of both terminals. (ANV / PJB)
