Carcar execs close ‘Paseo’ for holding Halloween Party

CARCAR City officials have issued a temporary suspension order against a private establishment in Barangay Poblacion after its operators allowed the holding of a Halloween Party there without following health protocols.

The incident reportedly happened on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

On Friday, November 5, Carcar City Mayor Mercedita Apura issued a temporary suspension order against the operators of Paseo De Carcar for violating Executive Order 33.

Apura said the establishment will be temporarily closed from Saturday, November 6, to December 31, 2021.

Apura issued the order after viral video and photos circulated on social media concerning the Halloween party organized at the establishment.

Local police who came to the area to stop the party even apprehended people in the party for not wearing face masks and not practicing social distancing.

“A footage taken by PNP personnel during the activity further revealed that aside from crowding the venue beyond the venue capacity and non-observance of social distancing, there were also people who were not wearing masks. The Halloween event also went beyond 10 o’clock in the evening, ” Apura said, in her order.

Apura added that during a follow up investigation, the City also found that even after the party, personnel at the establishment continued to violate the city’s health protocols.

“Further investigation showed that violation of minimum health standards and protocols by customers and staff in said establishment happened not only during the said event but also during weekends,” she added. (ANV / JKV)
