Comelec: Seek help through voter’s assistance desk

VOTERS are advised to go through the voter’s assistance desk (VAD) to immediately determine the precincts where they will cast their votes on Monday, May 9, 2022.Lawyer Jerome Brillantes, acting Cebu provincial elections supervisor, has told SunStar Cebu that voters should seek help from the VAD if they have no idea about their precinct number to avoid delay and inconvenience at the voting centers. The elections official earlier urged voters to visit the Comelec office prior to the election day to determine whether they are still registered or have been deactivated. He said the precinct finder is not reliable as its system is not yet perfect.Brillantes also reminded the active voters that the elections will start at 6 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. on the same day, urging them to plan ahead as to what time they will cast their votes to avoid inconvenience. He, however, clarified that the electoral boards will list the names of the voters who’ll fall in line until 7 p.m. but they would no longer cater to those who will arrive beyond the deadline.
