THE Danao City-MJAS Zenith will try to bring pride to the island of Cebu as they compete in the 2022 Filbasket Summer Championship Presented by Puregold on Friday, March 18, 2022, at the San Jose del Monte Sports Complex.The team is composed of numerous Cebuano hoops stars, led by the “Cebuano Sniper” Patrick Jan Cabahug, who serves as the team’s captain. In a talk, he said it always is an honor to carry Cebu’s flag, especially in prestigious pro basketball tournaments like the Filbasket competition.“It’s a different kind of feeling whenever I play and represent Cebu. Born and raised in this city, it’s always an honor. I’m very grateful for this opportunity to be representing Cebu in the Filbasket tournament,” said Cabahug, who previously played for the University of the Visayas in high school before playing in the UAAP, PBA, ABL, MPBL and the VisMin Super Cup.The other Cebuanos on the team include Reeve Ugsang, Andrey Armenion, Brylle Meca, and Kevin Villafranca. The rest of the team members are Jordan Rios, Felix Apreku, Steven Cudal, Jonel Bauzon, Jess Quilatan, Reggie Boy Basibas and Jeremy Arthur. The team is owned by Samson Lato and managed by Jhon Santos. The team’s coach is Aldrin Morante.Cabahug said they are ready to face off against different teams, which includes a guest team from Malaysia.“I expect this on another level especially since there will be a foreign team joining so the game match would definitely be very competitive,” added Cabahug.
