Demecillo brought in his brawling style of boxing against Nakajima in a very entertaining contest. He rallied in the sixth and seven rounds landing some heavy blows on Nakajima.
The 29-year-old Japanese, however, took it well and boxed Demecillo in the eighth round.
Demecillo looked gassed out in the eighth round and took some heavy blows from Nakajima. Demecillo was pinned to the ropes and Nakajima landed some unanswered blows that forced referee Binney Martin to give him a standing eight-count.
Nakjima continued his onslaught on the 30-year-old Demecillo that forced the latter’s corner to literally throw in the towel. Demecillo was stopped at the 2:45 mark of the eighth round.
Demecillo dropped to 16-6-2 with 10 knockouts, while Nakajima won his fourth straight fight and improved to 14-1-1 with 12 knockouts.
