Lerasan destroys Jankaew in Thailand

Adrian Lerasan continues his hot streak in Thailand after knocking out another world-rated Thai in Thailand.Lerasan, who fought his last four fights in Thailand, dethroned World Boxing Association (WBA) super flyweight champion Nattapong Jankaew via a ninth round technical knockout at the Lake Event in Samut Prakan on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022.Lerasan was very aggressive and dropped Jankaew with a body shot before stopping him in the ninth round.The 23-year-old Lerasan won his fourth straight fight in Thailand, wherein he stopped all of his Thai opponents.Lerasan will most likely break into the WBA super flyweight rankings after beating WBA No. 12 ranked Jankaew.Lerasan, rated No. 15 by the World Boxing Council (WBC), improved to 12-4 with five knockouts. The 26-year-old Jankaew suffered his first career loss and dropped to 10-1 with six knockouts.Lerasan beat unbeaten prospect Tanes Ongjunta, Suradech Ruhasiri and world rated Phongsaphon Panyakum in his impressive run in Thailand.
