PROMISING flyweight Bienvenido Ligas trades leathers with World Boxing Council No. 36 ranked flyweight Alphoe Dagayloan for the vacant Philippines flyweight title in the co-main feature of “Reebot 2021 – Dawn of a New Beginning” on Feb. 13, 2021 at the Mega Mart in Paniqui, Tarlac.
The 22-year-old Ligas is currently on a hot streak, winning his last six contests.
He is coming off a third round knockout of Joan Imperial to win the LuzProBA super flyweight belt on Feb. 7, 2020, before Covid-19 broke out in the Philippines. His only career loss is by majority decision against Joseph Ambo in 2018.
Dagayloan is currently at the peak of his career.
The 29-year-old Dipolog City native went 10-1-2 with 1 no contest since 2017.
He won over veteran Mateo Handig, Danrick Sumabong and Esneth Domingo in that four-year span. Dagayloan fought once before the Covid-19 pandemic and settled to a majority draw with Carlo Peñalosa.
Ligas is 12-1-1 with nine knockouts, while Dagayloan is 14-3-6 with five knockouts.
The main event features former Olympian Charly Suarez (4-0, 4 KOs) against heavy-handed Jon Jon Estrada (11-7-1, 10 KOs).
In the undercard, Ranelio Quizo (7-1, 1KO) locks horns with Prince Andrew Laurio (10-3-1, 7 KOs), Lorenz Lazadrada (7-1-1, 2 KOs) is up against Remon Basas (5-4, 4 KOs), and unbeaten Ali Canega (2-0, 2 KOs) takes on Glenn Bismanos (6-1-3, 4 KOs). / EKA
