A MAN believed to be having a mental disorder was prevented from jumping off a telecommunications tower in Medellin town, northern Cebu on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
The man, who is of legal age and whose name is withheld, reportedly climbed on top of the DITO tower in Barangay Poblacion when he was rescued by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) personnel, together with the police and Mayor Benjun Mondigo.
The MDRRMO staff received a call at 11 a.m. concerning the incident, which was discovered by a drone belonging to a certain Rhajeev Gulane that was flying over the tower.
The incident occurred amidst strong winds and rain.
The staff said the victim refused to comment during interrogation.
The victim was taken to the municipality’s Rural Health Unit for further examination. (ANV, TPT)
