Mandaue City now 80% ready for May 9 polls

An official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Mandaue City said they are now 80 percent prepared for the May 9, 2022 elections, and they are set to deliver the vote counting machines (VCMs) to clustered precincts for final testing and sealing.Evelyn Cueva, Mandaue City election assistant, said they already have the complete list of voters and other election paraphernalia such as the 321 VCMs that were already delivered to them by the Comelec’s central office in Manila.She added they will deliver the VCMs to the schools in the city that will serve as clustered precincts on May 4 in preparation for the final testing and sealing on May 5.Cueva said they are waiting for the arrival of the official ballots that will be used for the May 9 elections.She said the ballots will be delivered to Cebu by April 30 from Manila and these will be distributed through the Mandaue City Treasurer’s Office.Mandaue City has 234,581 registered voters assigned to 321 clustered precincts in the May 9 polls.Cueva has urged all voters to exercise their right to vote and they must arrive early in their assigned precincts.Mandaue City voters who need assistance in looking for their clustered precincts can directly go to the Comelec Mandaue City’s office at the back of Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex or through its official Facebook page.
