Neri: What’s new?

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced new routes from Cebu starting this month. During a press conference at Radisson Blu Cebu, PAL president/chief operating officer Stanley Ng shared: “Philippine Airlines hopes to build up Cebu as the Queen of Gateways, strategically positioned as the ideal gateway to the tourist islands and provincial economic centers of the Visayas and Mindanao, and beyond to Northern Luzon and Palawan.”

Last Dec. 1, the Cebu/Cotabato/Tawi Tawi flight took off. Targeted for Dec. 16 is the Cebu/Baguio route, and on Dec. 19, the Cebu/Borongan (Samar) route. As OIC PAL Express president Rabbi Ang puts it, “Our goal is to revitalize domestic travel and economic development by leveraging the strength of the Queen City of the South and enhancing it’s connectivity to all corners of the nation.”

Meanwhile the Cebu/Bangkok flights will resume on Dec. 9. Lucky winner of the grand raffle prize for Cebu/Bangkok was colleague Mila Espina who won a trip for two on Business Class.
