New PRO 7 director lauds arrest of 2 wanted persons on Friday

THE newly designated director of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO 7), Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba, praised the capture of a communist rebel who is wanted for illegal possession of ammunition in Siaton town, Negros Oriental on Friday afternoon, October 14, 2022.

“PRO7 is tediously implementing its anti-criminality and anti-insurgency efforts through the arrest of most wanted person in our area of responsibility… Along with the strategic thrust of PRO7, the 4Cs in CSOP (Community and Service-Oriented Policing), one is Connectivity. Malaki ang naitutulong ng komunidad sa kapulisan laban sa kriminalidad (The community can help the police a lot in the fight against criminality). Mabilis ang serbisyo kapag connected tayo (Service is quick if we are connected),” Alba said.

The accused was identified as Reneboy Haniala Pagon, a 34-year-old farmer from Sitio Balascan, Barangay Napacao in the same town.

He was arrested by intelligence officers of the 705th Mobile Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Central Visayas and members of different police units after they received a tip from a resident that the accused was spotted in Barangay Tayak in the same town on Friday.

Pagon was tagged as the most wanted person in the neighboring town of Sibulan and was identified as a squad leader.

Also on Friday, elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cebu City Field Unit (CFU) and the Cebu City Mobile Force Company arrested the third most wanted person in Cebu Province in Bonbon, a mountain barangay in Cebu City.

The accused, 28-year-old Harold Inesola, is facing a homicide case. He is currently in the custody of the CIDG Cebu CFU.

“We are moved through ‘Critical Thinking’ which is part of the operational framework in the fulfillment of our duty as law enforcers. Tulong-tulong tayo sa pagkamit ng hustisya (Let’s work together to achieve justice). Our deep intelligence gathering is being supplemented by the active participation of the community,” Alba said.

The PRO 7 director encouraged police personnel to continue searching for wanted persons with pending arrest warrants. (AYB / PJB)
