NUSTAR executives and VIPs adorned the Christmas tree with the five stars of Christmas: Joy, Hope, Peace, Love, and the “New Star.” The New Star—a clever, homonymous play on the brand’s name, NUSTAR—represents the true essence of Christmas. Since Christmas is widely known to be the season of giving and generosity, NUSTAR Resort and Casino aims to bring value to the community and generate positive impacts in all that it does.
The Christmas tree stands at 48 feet tall and contains design elements that are classy, glamorous, and distinctly Cebuano, such as fiber-casted balls from Liloan and Mactan capiz lamps. The Christmas tree’s designer, Basil Cabaral, was inspired by NUSTAR’s proximity to the seaside and Cebu’s overall reputation as a tropical city.
Small baskets lined with pearls mimic the tentacles of a jellyfish, a design feature that mirrors Fili Hotel’s jellyfish-inspired chandelier; textured Christmas balls represent the pineapple, a fruit commonly associated with tropical countries; and to top it all off, a unique topper stands at the top of the tree—a physical recreation of NUSTAR’s logo.
After NUSTAR’s executives and VIPs placed their respective stars on the tree, the event was followed by a celebration and a preview party for Axis Entertainment Bar & Lounge. NUSTAR is the region’s first premier integrated resort, and it is making its mark by creating the merriest of moments for guests through arranging holiday-themed events and enchanting experiences.
