THE first day of Misa de Gallo in Central Visayas was generally peaceful and orderly with no untoward incidents reported, said Police Regional Office (PRO) Director Roderick Augustus Alba on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022.
Alba visited churches in Cebu on Friday to check how ready the police personnel are for the Christmas celebration and to ensure that assistance desks are installed outside the churches.
The PRO 7 has deployed 135 uniformed personnel to churches, while some cops were assigned to monitor the presence of criminals.
The churches were also inspected by personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Explosive Ordnance Division K9 unit before the start of the Misa de Gallo to ensure that they are safe.
He called on the public to approach the police assistance desks if they monitor suspicious persons in their community.
He said the police are on alert 24/7. (AYB / LMY)
