A SUSPECTED thief was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in Sitio Bayabas, Barangay Poblacion Pardo in Cebu City past 3 a.m. Sunday, July 10, 2022.Police identified the fatality as Jojit Montalban Delfin, who was jobless and had a live-in partner before he was gunned down.Investigation showed that the shooting happened near Splendour Hills on Aznar Road in Sitio Bayabas.Before it happened, the 32-year-old victim had been walking when the gunman approached him and shot him several times.Residents near the crime scene were stunned when they saw the victim fall to the ground.The personnel from the Scene of the Crime Operation recovered five empty shells in the area.Police officers who interviewed some of the residents learned that the victim was a thief; however, this allegation has yet to be proven.Investigators have eyed several motives, including personal grudge.
