A WOMAN was placed under arrest for allegedly defaming a 70-year-old widow in Barangay Maricaban, Sta. Fe town in Bantayan Island, Cebu on Saturday morning, December 10, 2022.
The arrest warrant for 39-year-old Jimena Hortelano was for the grave oral defamation case filed by the widow who used to be her live-in partner’s lover.
The warrant was issued by Municipal Circuit Trial Courts Judge Romeo Bulotano in Bantayan on Wednesday, December 7.
According to Lieutenant Marlon Adao of the Sta. Fe Police Station, Hortelano had said something that prompted the widow to file the case against her.
“Unsaon man… sigihan man niyag sulong diri, ilugon gyud niya siya si Paul. Bisag tigulang na sigeg biga-biga,” Adao quoted Hortelano as saying.
(The accuser would accost me because she wanted Paul back. Despite her age she continues to be lustful.)
Adao said the bail was set at P18,000. (GPL)
