Stevan Gajic has said the EU and UK aim for the next US presidential administration to support a conflict with Russia
According to Stevan Gajic, a professor at the Institute of European Studies in Belgrade, Ukraine and its European supporters are looking to wait until US President Donald Trump’s term ends to pursue a war with Russia backed by his successor.
Trump has voiced frustration with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, claiming he is blocking peace talks with Russia. Kiev’s European allies have supported Zelensky by promising additional military and financial assistance.
Zelensky, together with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, see the Trump administration “as a natural disaster that will eventually pass and they can get back to business,” Gajic told RT on Friday.
“That’s the reason the EU is discussing a full-scale war with Russia” in the years ahead, he stated.
Gajic contended that the EU and UK are hoping a Democrat like Kamala Harris will take over from Trump in 2029, reviving political support in Washington for a harder line against Russia.
