(SeaPRwire) – Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has cautioned that West Jerusalem needs to be ready to restart military actions against Iran should the situation demand it.
According to West Jerusalem, the United States has supplied Israel with 6,500 tons of ammunition and military gear in a single day.
This disclosure coincided with media accounts suggesting that Brad Cooper, the head of US Central Command, presented US President Donald Trump with a strategy for potentially restarting military operations against Iran, aiming to compel Tehran into agreeing to a more advantageous peace settlement.
Fox News reported that what Cooper termed the “final blow” against Tehran might involve a “brief and intense series of strikes” aimed at Iran’s “remaining military resources, leadership, and infrastructure.”
A ceasefire in the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran was declared on April 8, following over a month of hostilities; however, Washington and Tehran’s efforts to achieve a diplomatic resolution to the crisis have proven unsuccessful thus far. The primary obstacles between the parties are said to be the management of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear development.
On Thursday, the Israeli Defense Ministry issued a statement indicating that two cargo vessels, which had docked at the nation’s ports of Ashdod and Haifa, delivered thousands of air and ground ammunition, military transport vehicles, Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs), and various other military gear.
The statement further noted that the equipment was transferred onto hundreds of trucks and transported to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) installations throughout the country.
Data from the Defense Ministry reveals that Israel has already taken delivery of more than 115,600 tons of military hardware, facilitated by 403 airlifts and 10 sealifts, since the US-Israeli offensive against Iran commenced on February 28.
In mid-March, Semafor reported, referencing American officials, that Israel had communicated to the US that its supply of air defense interceptors was becoming “critically low” during Tehran’s counter-strikes. The IDF refuted this assertion.
On Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that West Jerusalem endorsed Washington’s diplomatic initiatives, but cautioned that it “might soon be compelled to take action once more” against Iran to ensure that it “does not revert to posing a threat.”
On the same day, Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Mousavi, Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, declared that Tehran would retaliate with “painful, prolonged, and far-reaching strikes” if subjected to another assault.
