TAICHUNG CITY, Taiwan, Jan. 14, 2026 — J-Star Holding Co., Ltd. (Nasdaq: YMAT) (“J-Star” or the “Company”), a premier supplier of innovative carbon fiber and composite solutions for a wide range of applications such as personal sports equipment, healthcare products, automobile parts, resin systems, and R&D services, today announced it has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Patriot Technology Responsibilities (PSSB), a company that provides industrial solutions featuring a proprietary, patented next-generation solid-state battery.
The collaboration between J-Star and PSSB is aimed at leveraging high-ion conductivity resins to create sophisticated, lightweight battery technology. These batteries are projected for use in drones and, subsequently, electric bikes across international markets. J-Star’s specialized knowledge in resin systems and carbon reinforcement positions it as a perfect ally for developing ion-conductive resins to advance the electric mobility (e-bike) and automotive sectors.
“We expect this planned partnership will allow us to collaborate with top battery brands to produce lightweight battery packages, offering solutions for the bicycle industry and other fields where minimizing weight is critical,” stated Sam Van, Chief Executive Officer of J-Star. “PSSB is a pioneering leader in its field, with significant minority ownership held by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), an R&D institution founded with backing from the Taiwan government. We are confident this alliance will broaden our target market beyond sports and recreation, as well as strengthen our ties with key industry players in Taiwan.”
