The victim was identified as Cesardo Adanza, 56, a native of Purok 4, Barangay 20, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.
Based on initial report, the victim was chased by the suspect and was stabbed several times, which resulted in his death.
Police Staff Sergeant Leodico Fegi of Mabolo Police Station 4 said they have yet to name the suspect, but he confirmed that they have a lead in the incident.
‘Always fighting’
The victim’s colleagues told Superbalita Cebu that Adanza and the suspect have been fighting for a long time and have long advised them to get along because they work together.
Before the stabbing incident, they said the two had another fight and told them to make amends because it is Christmastime. They did not expect that a few hours after their argument, they received information that Adanza was dead.
The suspect, when Mabolo police responded, immediately fled the crime scene. (BBT, JGS)
