Concerns are growing for the safety of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, an Orthodox Jewish rabbi residing in Abu Dhabi, who has been missing since Thursday. The Mossad is investigating his disappearance.

Rabbi Kogan, a dual citizen of Moldova and another unspecified country, worked as a recruiter and was active in community service, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office announced on Saturday that its investigation suggests the disappearance may be linked to a terrorist incident, though specifics were not provided. The statement confirmed an ongoing investigation involving Israeli security and intelligence agencies, emphasizing their commitment to Kogan’s safety and well-being.

The statement also reiterated the existing Level 3 travel advisory for the UAE, advising against non-essential travel and urging extra precautions for those already in the country.

UAE authorities, including Majed Al Mansoori, are also actively investigating. Al Mansoori confirmed the Ministry of Interior’s close monitoring of the case, communication with Kogan’s family to provide support, and cooperation with the Moldovan embassy. He stated that extensive search and investigative measures have been implemented since the initial report.

The Chabad movement has appealed for prayers for Rabbi Kogan’s safe return, identifying him as their emissary to Abu Dhabi and requesting prayers for his well-being.
