Israel to Receive First Hostages Sunday with Supportive Accommodations “`

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), collaborating with the Health Ministry and other government agencies, finalized preparations on Saturday to receive the first group of hostages released by Hamas from the Gaza Strip on Sunday.

These preparations included creating comfortable, home-like environments within trailers where hostages will rest before medical evaluations. Amenities include toiletries, fresh clothing, couches, potted plants, and outdoor seating areas with cushions.

Medical supplies are also available at the reception locations.

Following this, hostages will be transported to hospitals for reunions with their families.

The IDF appealed for public patience and sensitivity during the hostages’ return, requesting respect for their privacy and adherence to official updates, discouraging the spread of unverified information.

The hostages have been held captive by Hamas for almost 500 days since the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Three hostages, expected to be women, are scheduled for release on Sunday, following a Wednesday ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

A total of 33 hostages, including two Americans, will be released in exchange for over 1,000 Palestinian prisoners.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Saturday that Israel would not proceed until receiving a confirmed list of hostages to be released, after the list failed to arrive from Qatar as planned.

He emphasized Israel’s intolerance for violations of the agreement, holding Hamas solely responsible.

Netanyahu highlighted Israel’s resilience in the conflict and confirmed the return of 157 abductees, 117 of whom are alive, with the agreement securing the return of 33 more.

He acknowledged the contributions of Presidents Biden and Trump in achieving the ceasefire.

Netanyahu specifically noted President Trump’s support and his emphasis on the ceasefire’s temporary nature.

Netanyahu also expressed appreciation for President Trump’s decision to lift restrictions on weapons supply to Israel.
