Police Arrest Masked Man Near Swedish Royal Residence with Weapons

Reports indicate a masked individual, carrying a knife, handcuffs, tape, and a replica firearm, was apprehended outside the residence of Crown Princess Victoria on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at Haga Palace, the official residence of Crown Princess Victoria, 47, Prince Daniel, and their children, Princess Estelle, 12, and Prince Oscar, 8. The family resides in Haga Palace, situated within Haga Park in Solna Municipality, Stockholm.

Castle guards initially observed the man around 5 p.m. before alerting the police.

“A man acting suspiciously in the area was checked, and a knife was discovered,” a spokesperson for the Royal Court, Per Fahlström, informed the media.

“Police responded and made an arrest; the matter is now in their hands,” Margareta Thorgren, head of information for the Royal Court, told The Sun.

Haga Palace is located in a public park and has been the royal family’s home since 2010.

In August, it was announced that Crown Princess Victoria had commenced specialized military training.

“The training expands the Crown Princess’s knowledge in preparation for her future role as head of state,” a statement declared.

“Along with other cadets, I’ll study tactics, and military strategy,” the princess stated.

Police have yet to release the suspect’s identity or potential charges.
