(SeaPRwire) – WUHU, China, April 24, 2026 — The iCAUR V27 from Chery Group has officially earned the L3 Off-Road Certification from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC). This certification evaluates performance across demanding real-world environments, including steep inclines, mud, gravel, and cross-axle articulation. The V27 successfully met rigorous standards for power system stability, body rigidity, four-wheel-drive responsiveness, and overall handling, confirming its professional off-road credentials. Its capability in challenging terrain is further evidenced by its successful navigation of the Yunnan Honghe Valley rainforest and the N39 route in the Taklamakan Desert.

Electric drive systems offer a distinct advantage in off-road recovery, particularly when navigating soft sand or uneven surfaces where rapid four-wheel-drive response is essential. The V27 utilizes an intelligent All-Wheel Drive (i-AWD) system capable of delivering up to 6000N·m of torque at the wheels with millisecond-level response times. This allows for immediate power redistribution and wheel locking to prevent getting stuck, as demonstrated during the N39 Taklamakan expedition. Furthermore, the vehicle’s handling on loose or uneven ground has been refined by the Prodrive racing team, ensuring precise control for the 5-meter-class vehicle.

For extended off-road journeys, consistent power output and range are critical. The V27 addresses this through its Golden REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) technology. Its 1.5T range extender achieves a thermal efficiency of 45.79%, producing 3.71kWh of electricity per liter of fuel, which enables a total range exceeding 1,000km on a full charge and tank. This provides reliability in remote locations like the Honghe Valley or the Taklamakan Desert. With a combined output of 455hp from its dual motors, the vehicle can accelerate from 0–100km/h in approximately 5 seconds, maintaining robust performance during steep climbs and difficult terrain.

Safety in off-road conditions relies on structural integrity and the durability of the electric powertrain. The V27 is built with an 11×11 safety cage incorporating over 76% high-strength steel, achieving a torsional rigidity of more than 31,000Nm/deg to prevent body deformation on rugged terrain. Additionally, the electric system is designed to function reliably in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 50°C. Supported by an all-weather battery management system and a reinforced battery shield, the V27 is engineered to remain stable in extreme heat, humidity, and other harsh conditions.

Designed to meet diverse user needs, the V27 combines off-road performance with daily driving comfort. The model is scheduled for release in the Russian market during the second quarter. It will also be showcased at Auto China 2026 and the iCAUR International Business Summit, where the brand will highlight its latest new energy off-road advancements. The summit will also feature demonstrations of AiMOGA robots and robotic dogs, offering a preview of future mobility technology.
