YANGLING, China, Oct. 14, 2025 – The 32nd China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair, operating under the theme “New Quality Productive Forces for a New Agricultural Future,” is scheduled to be held in Yangling, Shaanxi Province, China’s central hub for agricultural science and technology, from October 25 to 29.
The current iteration of the event anticipates attracting attendees from more than 50 nations and international bodies, utilizing an expansive exhibition space spanning 140,000 square meters. It plans to feature a range of conferences, forums, displays, and commercial exchanges, all aimed at fostering concrete agricultural collaboration with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Through a blend of offline and online formats, encompassing both on-site and off-site activities, and integrating domestic with international initiatives, the fair will highlight pioneering advancements in agricultural “new quality productive forces” developed by research institutions and companies worldwide. The primary focus areas encompass core germplasm resources, essential agricultural machinery, water-conservation technologies for agriculture, smart farming solutions, and digital agricultural practices.
Established in 1994, the fair has successfully completed 31 editions, evolving into one of China’s preeminent and most impactful comprehensive expositions for agricultural technology. It functions as a crucial venue for nations to present agricultural innovations, facilitate technological transfer, and stimulate open collaboration. To date, the event has facilitated more than 500 international exchange programs and engaged close to 2,000 foreign agri-business companies.
A pivotal moment occurred in 2019 with the establishment of the SCO Demonstration Base for Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training in Yangling. This development injected fresh impetus into the fair, cementing its role as a fundamental platform for agricultural cooperation among SCO members.
During the 31st fair in 2024, every one of the 26 SCO member states established national pavilions within the specialized SCO agricultural exhibition. Among the showcased items were Pakistani handicrafts, Belarusian chocolates, Tajik beverages, and Egyptian hand-painted artwork – a considerable number of which were introduced to the Chinese market for the first time.
Pakistani exhibitor Muhammad Amir expressed, “We anticipate that our products can gain entry into the Chinese market via this fair.”
The current year’s fair will be held concurrently with the SCO Agricultural Expo, which will include distinct zones for comprehensive presentations, international merchandise, and technological training.
Accompanying events are set to feature the 2025 SCO roundtable on contemporary agriculture, workshops focusing on agricultural advancement and poverty reduction, the introduction of SCO ecological origin standards, and sessions designed to match supply and demand for agricultural products. These endeavors are intended to enhance SCO agricultural collaboration and facilitate global expansion for businesses, leading to reciprocal advantages.
Leveraging the progression of the Belt and Road Initiative, the China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair has emerged as a crucial link connecting Chinese agriculture to the global stage. This prominent event is now recognized as a new epicenter for worldwide agricultural technology exchange and a catalyst for international agricultural partnerships.
