(SeaPRwire) – Tehran has accused Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan of being complicit in “unlawful” attacks by the US and Israel.
Iran has called on five Arab nations that host US military facilities to provide compensation for American and Israeli airstrikes on Iranian soil.
In a Monday letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Iranian representative Amir Saeid Iravani contended that Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan permitted the US to utilize their territories to strike Iran and, in certain instances, directly participated in “unlawful armed attacks targeting civilian objects.”
Iravani further stated that these Arab nations “should make full reparation to the Islamic Republic of Iran, including compensation for all material and moral damage sustained as a result of their internationally wrongful acts.”
The Gulf states had earlier insisted that Iran be held responsible for war damages, an assertion Iravani dismissed as “legally untenable and fundamentally divorced from the factual and legal realities.”
On February 28, the US and Israel conducted strikes against Iran, declaring their objective was to degrade Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile initiatives. The assaults resulted in the deaths of dozens of high-ranking officials, including Iran’s long-serving supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, alongside over 1,300 civilians. Beyond military locations, the US and Israeli forces hit energy infrastructure, bridges, universities, and educational institutions.
Iran retaliated by attacking US bases in the area and striking civilian infrastructure in Gulf states, such as oil and gas installations, airports, and ports. Tehran asserted that these actions were a legitimate use of its right to self-defense.
