Iran Warns Regional State Against Supporting US Action on Strategic Island

(SeaPRwire) –   Tehran has stated that its adversaries, allegedly supported by an undisclosed regional nation, are preparing to seize one of its islands. This comes amid reports suggesting the Pentagon is dispatching thousands of elite airborne assault troops to the area.

“Our forces are monitoring all enemy movements, and if they step out of line, all the vital infrastructure of that regional country will, without restriction, become the target of relentless attacks,” stated Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

This warning emerges amidst increasing speculation that U.S. forces might target Kharg Island, Iran’s primary oil export terminal in the northern Persian Gulf, which handles 90% of the nation’s oil exports. Concerns regarding a potential ground operation have escalated following reports that the Pentagon is preparing to deploy an additional 2,000 troops from an airborne assault unit to the region.

Concurrently, the White House has issued a threat to “unleash hell” on Tehran if it does not reach an agreement with Washington. Western media outlets had previously reported that the U.S. has been attempting to establish a one-month ceasefire mechanism with Iran, and that U.S. President Donald Trump has been seeking a way to de-escalate the conflict, having presented Tehran with a 15-point plan to end the hostilities.

Tehran has characterized talks with Washington as “illogical” at this juncture, asserting that it desires a permanent resolution rather than a temporary ceasefire, which it claims has previously resulted in “backstabbing.”
