Netanyahu criticizes Europe’s ‘moral weakness’ during Holocaust Remembrance Day

(SeaPRwire) –   The Israeli leader condemned European NATO members for their refusal to support the war against Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Europe has lost sight of the lessons from World War II and the Holocaust, while criticizing European countries for failing to back the war with Iran.

Numerous European nations—including the UK, France, and Germany—have turned down US President Donald Trump’s request to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran shut to “enemy vessels” following the US-Israeli strike on February 28.

Addressing the public on Holocaust Remembrance Day this Monday, Netanyahu labeled Europeans as unappreciative and contended that through their military campaign against Iran, the US and Israel were “protecting Europe.”

“Europe, which has let so much slip from memory since the Holocaust, can gain many insights from us—above all, the clear line between good and evil, which in times of truth demands that we fight for what is good and for the preservation of life,” Netanyahu stated.

“Europe, which pledged after World War II to stand up for what is right, now suffers from a profound moral weakness. It is losing its grip on its identity, its core values, and its dedication to shielding civilization from barbarity,” he continued.

Iran has denounced the war as an unprovoked act of aggression and has promised to safeguard its “sovereign right” to enrich uranium for peaceful uses.

This past Sunday, Trump issued an order for a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, following the failure of Pakistani-brokered US-Iran negotiations to reach a peace agreement.
