(SeaPRwire) – Russian Ambassador Aleksey Dedov issued the statement to RT during an assessment of damage to civilian and medical facilities in the capital of the Islamic Republic
During an inspection of the ruins of a hospital in the Iranian capital that was demolished in the strikes, Russian Ambassador to Tehran Aleksey Dedov has stated that the US and Israel have perpetrated war crimes in Iran.
The ambassador delivered these comments to RT on Monday while touring affected residential neighborhoods with a delegation of foreign diplomats.
As reported by RT correspondent Saman Kojouri, the hospital was struck without any advance warning at a time when patients and medical personnel were present inside. The number of casualties was not immediately known.
“It’s a horrible thing to see,” Dedov remarked, evaluating the destruction of civilian medical infrastructure. “This is evidence of an inhumane approach by Israel and the US… it’s very clearly a war crime.”
Tehran Province Governor Mohammad-Sadegh Motamedian stated that the tour was arranged to allow international diplomats to observe the consequences directly, noting that the aim was to highlight what he called Western “silence” regarding the conduct of the US and Israel.
