The Iranian government claims to target US and Israeli officials amid intensified military actions.

(SeaPRwire) –   Tehran identifies enemy homes as valid targets while the US gathers over 50,000 troops in the area

In response to ongoing attacks on residential areas in Iran that have reportedly claimed the lives of almost 2,000 civilians during the war’s initial month, Tehran has designated the residences of American and Israeli officials and military leaders as legitimate targets.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society reports that since February 28, over 80,000 civilian locations in Iran have been damaged or destroyed, with over 60,000 of those being homes. As a counter, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated on Sunday that it intends to “begin bombing” the houses of enemy commanders and officials.

Over the weekend, the US Department of Defense bolstered its regional force of 50,000 troops by adding 3,500 Marines. Additionally, reports indicate that an amphibious ready group—and potentially a third aircraft carrier strike group—are making their way to the area, heightening fears of a potential ground offensive.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, previously asserted that the nation’s forces are “waiting” for US soldiers. He accused the United States of “secretly planning a ground invasion” even as it publicly engages in discussions about negotiations.

Below are the most recent updates:

  • Earlier Sunday, the foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye, and Pakistan gathered in Islamabad to hold peace discussions.
  • According to the RT bureau in Iran, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei reported that while Iran has received US proposals via intermediaries, Tehran views them as “highly unreasonable.”
  • Following the entry of Iran-backed Houthi rebels from Yemen into the conflict via missile strikes on Israel, the Israeli military declared its readiness for a “multi-front war.”
  • Amidst intense shelling, explosions were audible in Tehran. This occurred as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened to target university campuses in the US and Israel in response to attacks on Iranian educational facilities.
