CEA is actively broadening its “Aviation+” application initiatives. Collaborating with the China Center of International Cultural Exchange and Tourism Promotion and the Shanghai Jiushi Group, the airline introduced the China Pass Card, targeting international inbound visitors. This card provides benefits such as flight discounts, complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi, and transfer services between Shanghai Hongqiao Airport (SHA) and Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG). Plans are underway to expand its acceptance across various locations nationwide, fostering a more welcoming environment for international tourism and consumption.

The forum’s impact also reached aviation operations. CEA implemented forum-themed flights on nearly 400 incoming services to Shanghai. Furthermore, on the Milan-Shanghai flight on October 17, an immersive cabin experience was crafted to reflect Shanghai’s dynamic spirit and hospitality.

In recent times, CEA has been consistently bolstering Shanghai’s standing as a premier international aviation hub. Since 2024, the airline has inaugurated 23 new medium- and long-haul international routes, connecting to 36 destinations across 21 nations participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. By the close of 2025, with the introduction of the Shanghai-New Zealand-Argentina route, CEA is set to become China’s first airline to operate services to all six continents, as well as the carrier boasting the most extensive network of international destinations. Furthermore, CEA has established Air-Rail Transit Desks and remote city terminals, creating a comprehensive air-ground travel network throughout the Yangtze River Delta region. In 2024, CEA facilitated 8.358 million international transfer passengers at PVG, accounting for 80.9% of the airport’s total. This figure saw a 26.8% year-on-year increase in the first half of 2025, reaching 4.8 million, thereby underscoring the airline’s pivotal contribution to Pudong’s expansion as an international aviation gateway.
