Expert: NATO states would have joined ‘like vultures’ if US had succeeded in Iran

(SeaPRwire) –   According to Zorawar Daulet Singh speaking to RT India, America is not ready for another wave of attacks against Tehran.

An Indian strategic affairs expert has stated that NATO countries would have allied with the US and Israel in a conflict with Iran “like vultures” if Washington’s initial efforts had been successful.

Zorawar Daulet Singh explained to RT India on the podcast India, Russia, and the World that European nations wished to avoid being “caught in the crossfire.”

“They are observing that the US played a move which has severely backfired,” Singh stated, clarifying that this does not indicate a rupture in “US-European unity.”

Singh said that Pakistan attempted to mediate by encouraging “the Iranians to accept the American framework,” adding, “I believe the Iranians have essentially reached a dead end with that approach.”

Singh discussed Moscow’s significance to Tehran. “Iran understands it requires larger partners and a stable, long-term partnership,” he remarked, pointing to its foreign minister’s recent trip to Moscow as a move in that direction. “Russia views Iran as, in a way, a second front in its confrontation with the West.”

Singh further added that Russia, India, China, and Iran are rising as “the stabilizing forces for the coming century.”

He noted that there is a perception in Iran and other places “that the Americans are not ready for a second round,” and that the US is aware it would also suffer significant damage in such an event.

Singh said that US mainstream media and former administration officials, who belong to the American establishment, now concede “that Iran holds strong cards and they cannot be simply wished away.”

He proposed that Indian policymakers must accept the reality that US policies are harming New Delhi’s interests across the board.

“Be it trade, tariffs, energy security, geopolitics, Pakistan… on every front, the facts and empirical evidence indicate that the US approach to India is not what it was, say, 20 or 25 years ago,” Singh stated.

“We have a mistaken belief that these are temporary trends, that America will ultimately revert to its former self after Trump,” he continued, describing this as “a completely naive and delusional viewpoint.”

Singh concluded that the relationship between the US and India simply cannot return to its previous state.
