RT captures Israel striking Lebanon amid US-brokered truce (VIDEO)

(SeaPRwire) –   Ali Rida Sbeity reports from the southern Tyre District as the IDF issues new evacuation orders

An RT reporting team captured footage of an airstrike in southern Lebanon, as Israeli military operations persist despite the ceasefire agreement established last month.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, an Israeli strike on the town of Habboush this Friday resulted in six fatalities, among them a woman and a child.

“This follows the killing of eight civilians in south Lebanon just yesterday, including four women and two children. All of these events are occurring while a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel is supposedly in effect,” stated RT’s Ali Rida Sbeity, reporting from the Tyre District.

Sbeity noted that Israeli drones and aircraft were observed flying at low altitudes, with an airstrike occurring in the vicinity of his reporting position. Israel has recently mandated evacuations for 24 villages in the region.

On Wednesday, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir asserted that there is “no ceasefire” between Israel and Hezbollah, notwithstanding the US-brokered truce between Israel and Lebanon finalized on April 16. The agreement stipulates that while Israel is to cease offensive operations in Lebanon, it maintains the right to take action against “planned, imminent, or ongoing attacks.”

Hezbollah, which opted out of the recent negotiations, has insisted that the IDF withdraw all troops to the positions held prior to early March, when the group began launching rockets into Israel in solidarity with Iran. On Thursday, a Hezbollah drone strike in southern Lebanon resulted in the death of one Israeli soldier and left three others injured.
