SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 17, 2025 — The “Eastern Starry Sky: Jincheng Museum’s Twenty-Eight Mansions International Art Exhibition” concluded successfully in Seoul, South Korea. Hosted at the Insadong Art Center, the exhibition ran from November 12 to 18, 2025. This event represented the debut international display of the “Twenty-Eight Mansions Painted Sculptures” originating from the Jade Emperor Temple in Jincheng, Shanxi Province, China. Hailed as “unique treasures of China,” this collection provided Korean attendees with an artistic exploration of the Eastern cosmological cultural exchange.

An accompanying special symposium took place on November 15 during the exhibition. Attendees included He Tao and Si Si, Deputy Directors of the Jincheng City Cultural Relics Protection and Research Center (Jincheng Museum), alongside Professor Sun Zhanfang, who serves as President of both the Global Intercultural Development Association (Korea) and the Korea Association of Shanxi Culture Studies, as well as various other experts and academics. Discussions at the symposium covered subjects like the artistic significance of the “Twenty-Eight Mansions” sculptures, historical astronomical cultural interactions between China and Korea, and the digital conservation and contemporary utilization of cultural artifacts. Furthermore, participants engaged in a dynamic and fruitful dialogue concerning global collaborative prospects for the museum ESG evaluation system—a pioneering initiative developed by Professor Sun Zhanfang’s team.

The exhibition and related activities not only presented the Korean public with the intricate artistry and deep cosmological perspective inherent in Chinese Song and Yuan dynasty sculpture but also established an important platform for scholarly dialogue and cultural innovation between China and South Korea, thereby creating a strong basis for future partnerships.
Both sides also held extensive discussions regarding the International ESG Standards Framework for Museums (ESG-IM), which was jointly introduced by Professor Sun Zhanfang’s team, the International Cross-Cultural Development Association, and the American Journal of Advanced Integrated Science (AJAIS). These standards, representing a novel framework for global museum ESG assessment, are experiencing their initial worldwide launch.
