Iran again restricts Strait of Hormuz passage, accuses US of ‘piracy’ (PHOTOS/VIDEOS)

(SeaPRwire) –   Donald Trump had previously pledged to continue the blockade of Iranian ports until a peace agreement was finalized

The Iranian military has once again halted unrestricted passage through the vital Strait of Hormuz, attributing the action to what it termed US ‘piracy.’

Initially, on Friday, Tehran had announced that the waterway would be fully accessible to commercial vessels for the remainder of a ten-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, leading to a decrease in oil prices amid expectations of reduced tensions.

However, despite US President Donald Trump commending this development, he stated that the US blockade of Iranian ports “will remain in full force” until a peace deal is achieved.

Reports from various media outlets indicate that the US has put forth several demands to Iran, including the surrender of its enriched uranium reserves. While Trump asserted that Tehran had “agreed to everything,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei reiterated that the Islamic Republic would not relinquish the stockpile, which he characterized as “as sacred as Iranian soil.”
